Annamacharya jayanthi celebrated

New Delhi: The 604th Annamacharya Jayanthi of the great Telugu saint composer of the 15th century Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, was celebrated at Sri Devi Kamakshi Mandir, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg on Sunday .
It was organised jointly by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthasnam, which is holding an Annamacharya music summer camp at Devi Kamakshi Mandir, from May 3; Annamayya Gana Sudha and Sri Sankara Academy of Sanskrit Culture and Fine Arts.
On this occasion, the TTD coordinator and Coach Garemella Kalyani and her disciples rendered Annamacharya sankeertanas. Prof. E. Muralidhar Rao of Sri Venkateswara College , was the chief guest for the celebrations.

Prize distribution

He distributed prizes to the winners of music competitions conducted for various categories of participants and spoke on the significance and greatness of the works of saint Annamacharya.
He praised the participants, which included many children, for evincing keen interest in learning Annamacharya keertanas.
The camp will conclude today (Tuesday).
